Free Project Management Solutions and why they Suck

It seems that today project management solutions are popping out from every which direction on the internet. A lot of them of course use the word free… rather loosely if you ask me. The only really free one i have found so far, that is not self hosted of course, is a new recent pm tool that has recently been launched. It’s called projectbubble.

At first I thought that it was some great competition for freedcamp (finally) but then i used it. Well it is simple… but unfortunately by simple i mean it has 3 features to look forward to. Unfortunately with it’s simplicity and one man team of programmer and web developer the solution does not offer the important features you may have come to expect from traditional pm systems like BaseCamp and ActiveCollab. It does offer a nice invoicing system, but I feel the tool is solely focused on single developers.

Anyways I wanted to make sure people know this means nothing to freedcamp as our set of features will change the way you look at pm apps in general.

Also I have recently been introduced to other pm software like nokahuna and nirvana. Nokahuna i got a chance to play with, and it is also a very limited solution with a bit of a confusing interface. It does do some things right, but overall not worth their steep pricing sheet. Nirvana on the other hand is an actual replica of an iMac application… which can be a good thing and a bad thing. If i was willing to use a software app there are quite a few solutions i could use hence that is probably the may downfall. Otherwise it seems like a nice pm app and i am excited to use it and find out what it does right and wrong.
